The creation of a new model occurs when:
•the Visualisation Module is opened on a project without a model
•the New button on the Quick Access Menu is clicked

It's highly recommended that the coordinate data is checked before commencing the process of creating a new model. During the setup process you will need to choose between National Coordinates (i.e. National North, National East and National Elevation columns) or Local Coordinates (i.e. North, East and Elevation columns). This selection will define the models coordinate system and cannot be changed.

 Click the New button on the quick access toolbar:
 If a model is already open, you will be prompted to save the current model before proceeding:
 Select the folder and file name for the new model before clicking the Save button:
 Select the coordinate columns containing data values before clicking OK:

This setting cannot be changed once the model is created.

 Check the Data Limit determined from the coordinate columns before clicking OK:
|
If the distances are too large the model may become unresponsive.

 The new model file path is saved in the database.

•Database layers will be created using the Master templates. •The Material Grouping is set to MaterialXX. •A lock is created on the model file so that any other users that try to open the file will be restricted to read-only access until the file is closed. |
