Working with model files

Each project may have one of more model files depending on the projects size and requirements.

Buttons to perform common file operations are located in the Quick Access Menu:

Model_File

Save - users can manually save the current model or create a copy with a new model name.

Open  - provides the option to open an existing model or backup file, and open the file locations.

New - use this option to create a new model from scratch.

Caching

When working with files from a network location there may be bandwidth limitations.

To avoid these issues, the model files are cached on the local device so as to minimize performance issues while working with a model.

When the model file is saved, this is done locally before being passed to a background process that uploads that file back to the network location.

When closing the Visualisation Module there may be a delay as the model file is saved and uploaded back to the network location.

Backups

Models are automatically backed up every 15-minutes while the program is active (paused when not focused).

Backups are saved to the network location on a background process.

Additionally, the user will be prompted to save the model when closing the Visualisation Module or when the selected project is changed.
