Create an alignment manually

When the accuracy of an alignments geometry is not critical it can be defined manually through the model viewport.

If an exact geometry is required we recommend using the import option.

img_1 Change to the Plan (2D) environment where the Z-value is automatically set and there are no perspective issues:

img_2 Click the Alignment button to begin the creation of a new alignment:

img_3 Click 2 or more points in the model to define the alignment and complete by clicking the right-mouse button (RMB):

hs-tip

To remove the last point, hold down the CTRL key and click the right-mouse button.
To cancel the process, press the ESC key.

CORE-GS | Standard is limited to using single segment alignments with a maximum of two points.

img_4 Enter a unique name, check scale settings and data selection:

img_5 Select a drawing template before clicking the OK button:

Closing the Alignment Settings dialog will not automatically start the Preview or Drawing process.

img_6 Double-click the new alignment shown in the Alignment Manager to generate the section preview.
