Pin To Ground

The Pin To Ground tool is provided to assist when limited survey data exists.

This tool should not be used when accurate survey data has been input into the database, as this will be overwritten.

img_1 The Pin To Ground tool is shown by clicking the lower portion of the Feature button to show the drop-down menu:

img_2 Clicking the Pin To Ground button will open a warning dialog:

img_3 Once the Yes button is clicked, the elevation of each point feature is determined by projecting a vertical line through the Ground surface.  If an intersection is found, the elevation at this intersection is updated into the database.

img_4 Once the process has completed, the database layers are refreshed.
