Grid size changes the smoothness of gridded surfaces and significantly affects the speed of model regeneration.
It's generally recommended that:
•large values (low resolution) are recommended while developing models
•small values (high resolution) are only used for the generation of outputs (i.e. model files and drawings)
Grid size can be defined as any value down to a minimum of 1 drawing unit (i.e. 1m), however grid size is also dependent on the size of the data limit.
If the data limit is large and grid size is small, the grid size may be automatically increased to ensure that sufficient computational capacity is maintained.
Below are some examples of various values showing the affect on gridded surface generation:

Click the Grid Size button on the Ribbon: This will show the Grid Size dialog with the existing value shown: Change the Grid Size value to the value you want and click the OK button. The new value will be validated against the Data Limit minimum allowable size, then all gridded surfaces will be regenerated with the lowest possible value. |
